Rahul did not initially intend to pursue music professionally. Although he has always loved choral music and sang bass regularly in school and university choirs, his main focus was Zoology. At university Rahul directed the university chamber choir. One week when the choir was short of altos he was asked to sing countertenor for evensong and has not looked back since. An enforced break from choral music during the COVID-19 pandemic made Rahul realise that he really missed his singing and that he wanted to take it further. Rahul currently holds a choral scholarship at Lincoln Cathedral where he sings with Lincs Effect (the scholars’ a cappella quintet) in addition to singing six weekly services with the cathedral choir, and occasional freelance work.

It is through his connection with the Lincoln Cathedral Choir that Rahul was introduced to Thomas and the ANON concept. After singing in several early recitals he was entranced by the beauty and mystery of unknown and anonymous music and became determined to share the wonder of these hidden gems with as many people as possible.
